Housing

Emergency Housing Program
For many homeless LGBTQ+ individuals, our Emergency Housing Program is your first bed since leaving home. Unlike other crisis shelters, our Emergency Housing Program is hosted in short-term volunteer community homes until you can transition into the Braided Haven shelter or other appropriate housing.

Transitional Housing Program
LGBTQ+ individuals are provided a safe place to be yourselves and gain support to make the independent transitions during your late adolescence and early adulthood. Braided Haven provides residents an opportunity to embrace your identity and overcome the obstacles presented by housing insecurities and homelessness.
The program instills accountability in residents to prepare you for independence. Each resident is paired with a trained mentor who guides you through the transitional housing experience. With little or no family support, your mentor can serve as a surrogate family, offering solid and consistent support throughout your stay and beyond.
